The gold is a surface layer, exactly as it is on our sterling pieces, so treat it as one: last on, first off; off before water; a soft dry cloth after wearing. A dry, soft cloth, and nothing more. Silver dips, polishing cloths and abrasive creams are made to strip a surface layer, which on this piece is the gold you want to keep.
